Prishtina, 11.03.2021 - The Minister of Economy and Environment (MEA), Muharrem Nitaj, has announced through an official letter that he has requested the Board of Infrakos to suspend the election of the new Chief Executive Officer of this company on the grounds that the competition criteria have not been applied in the election process, however they concluded this matter, thus they made a violation.

Full statement of Minister Nitaj:

I, as Minister of Economy and Environment, did not agree to proceed with the re-nomination of temporary boards, at a time when only the process of electing regular boards is in the final stage!

Even for those companies where the interviewing and scoring process has ended, as is the case with the Board of Telekom, the election and appointment of which is left to the next Government.

I have concluded that the election of new boards should be at the discretion of the new Government. Anyhow, this does not mean that the temporary boards being in their last official days, can make the hasty election of CEOs of public enterprises and also violating the rules of the competition, and often in contradiction with the law, as has happened with Chief Executive Officer of Infrakos.

Despite the fact that since yesterday, through an official letter, I, as a Minister and in the capacity of a shareholder of Infrakos, have requested the Board of Infrakos to suspend the election of the new Chief Executive Officer, on the grounds that the competition criteria have not been applied in the election process, however they concluded this matter, thus they made a violation.
