Prishtina, 26.01.2021 - The Minister of Economy, Muharrem Nitaj, together with the Prime Minister, Avdullah Hoti, today visited the enterprise Trepça, where they met with the Board and the management of the enterprise.

They were informed by the management regarding the current situation and the problems Trepça is facing.

Senior Government officials, Prime Minister Hoti and Minister Nitaj asked the Trepça management to draft a detailed business plan to overcome the crisis, while promising that the Ministry of Economy and Environment would explore all possible opportunities to support Trepça in overcoming of the situation created by the accumulated debt, which has accumulated over the years.

Minister Nitaj, on his part, stated that Trepça should, within a short period of time, become a profitable enterprise and no longer be a burden for the Ministry.

“Trepça is not in its best days. In the last two or three months there have been positive movements, for the first time it has managed to ensure the salaries of its employees with its own income; however, this is not enough, Trepça must find opportunities to stand on its own feet and not to be a burden of the Government”, emphasized Nitaj.
