Prishtina, 21 March 2011 Privatization of the Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo represents part of the structural economic reform of the country, said today the Minister of Economic Development (MED) Besim Beqaj, in the introductory meeting of the Government Committee for the Privatization of the Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo (PTK) with representatives of the donor community, International Monetary Fund, representatives of the embassies of the Quint countries, and ambassadors of the mother countries of investors interested in PTK.
At this event, the representatives were informed on the progress made in relation to the private sector participation in the Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo.
Minister Beqaj stated that this process is part of the structural economic reform in Kosovo and noted the commitment to the Government Privatization Committee to successfully and transparently conclude the process, and expressed his conviction that the project will be successfully concluded in accordance with the highest international standards, in full transparency and in a manner that is beneficial for all Kosovo citizens.
The agenda of forthcoming activities in relation to the implementation of this process was also presented during this meeting.
Representatives of the embassies and the key donor community organizations in Kosovo thanked the Government Committee for their commitment to transparency and expressed their unreserved support for PTKs successful privatization.
