Prishtina, 6 April 2011 – Today, the Government Privatization Committee of the KEK Distribution and Supply – KEDS announced four pre-qualified companies in the KEDS privatization process. The deadline for the submission of prequalification Applications expired on 18 March 2011.

Project Implementation Unit, received applications from four (4) companies:

1. Limak Yatirim Enerji Üretim Işletme Hizmetleri Ve Inşaat A. Ş, (”Limak’), registered in Turkey
2. Çalık Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. & Çalık Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. Consortium, (”Çalik’), registered in Turkey
3. TAIB Bank BSC (c) – Yildizlar SSS Holding A.Ş. Consortium, (”TAIB’), registered in Turkey and Bahrain
4. Elsewedy Electric, (“Elsewedy”), registered in Egypt.

Prequalification Application review was carried out by an Evaluation Committee, composed of representatives of each Ministry, Members of Privatization Committee. After the detailed review of all documentation included in the submitted applications, the Evaluation Committee for Prequalification has recommended that all four companies/consortia meet the criteria outlined in the Prequalification Documentation. This recommendation is fully in line with the recommendation of the Transaction Advisor, IFC.

Therefore, after having the recommendation from the Evaluation Committee for prequalification, and from the IFC transaction advisor, the KEDS Privatization Government Committee, in today’s meeting, 6 April 2011, took a unanimous decision to declare ”Limak”, ”Çalik”, ”TAIB”, and “Ellsewedy” companies pre-qualified for the KEDS Privatization Process.
