Prishtina, 10 October 2011 – Government Privatization Committee of Post and Telecom met today to analyze the progress of PTK privatization, and received an assessment of the evaluation committee on a time extension for prequalification.
The evaluation committee reported that no new company is prequalified in the additional deadline, and that formally only the two companies remain prequalified for PTK privatization.

Taking into consideration that the Hrvatski Telekom has not expressed an interest to further participate in the process, and calling on the Decision of the Government and the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo for a competitive, open and transparent process, protecting the national interest and the asset value of PTK, the GPC decided to authorize the Project Implementation Unit and the Transaction and Strategic Advisors to analyze the new situation, and pursuant to the applicable legal framework, and with a national responsibility, provide the GPC with a plan for further steps in the PTK privatization process.

Kosovo Government and the GPC are committed to a market economy, and structural economic reforms, pursuant to the economic development action plan, and in line with the principle of protecting the asset value of the Republic of Kosovo, and competition which, in a market economy, results in real transaction values.
