Prishtina, 08 May 2013 The Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj, met today with the Mayor of Bujanoc Municipality, Nagip Arifi, with whom he discussed on the recent developments in the country and in the Presheva Valley, with special emphasis on economic developments.
Beqaj-Arifi meeting was held after the attendance of both officials in the general international fair Prishtina 2013, which was opened today in the Prishtinë - Fushë Kosovë industrial zone, organized by the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and attended by various businesses from the country and abroad.
Using this occasion, the Mayor of Bujanoc informed Minister Beqaj on the problems faced with border crossing taxes, which, according to him, comprise a financial burden for the residents of Presheva Valley, while requesting from the Government of Kosovo to take this matter into consideration.
Minister Beqaj informed Mayor Arifi on the recent economic developments in Kosovo and on the projects under development, while emphasizing the interest of the Government to empower the private sector and increase economic cooperation with neighboring countries.
Arifi used this meeting to invite Minister Beqaj to attend the Bujanoc Fair, which will be organized in this municipality on 27 May.
For his part, Minister Beqaj promised to encourage all Kosovo business associations to take part and to have their representatives present in this fair.
