Prishtina, 31 July 2013 The Ministerial Committee on Publicly-Owned Enterprises MCPOE, convened in a meeting chaired by the Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, to discuss a number of issues pertaining to the work and requests submitted by Publicly-Owned Enterprises.
Present in the meeting of MCPOE were its members Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry Mimoza Kusari Lila, Minister of Infrastructure Fehmi Mujota, Deputy-Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Ferat Shala, and the representative of the Ministry of Finance.
The Committee initially reviewed requests by municipalities on the establishment of new local POEs, and it was decided that a final resolution will be made after consultation with municipalities.
In relation to the notification of the Kosovo Post on difficulties in implementing the Law on Reserved Postal Services, MCPOE will recommend to all public institutions and Publicly-Owned Enterprises to utilize postal services of the Kosovo Post, as the only licensed entity for providing reserved postal services for parcels weighing under 1.0 kg.
Further, the Committee also reviewed KEKs request to delay the loans KEK has obtained from the Ministry of Finance, and deliberated that the issue will be initially reviewed with ERO, in order to evaluate the impact of these loans in 2005, 2008 and 2010 tariffs, and its expected impact on future tariffs.
Also, the meeting was used to review the issue of the status of the administrative facility of Ibër-Lepenc, and it was concluded that according to the Law on Waters, MESP is the owner of assets belonging to former Institute of Hydro-Economy, and that this should be notified to the KPA.
Among other, the Ministerial Committee also discussed the Draft Annual POE Performance Report for 2012, and members of the MCPOE are expected to provide their comments to this draft within the next 15 days, in order for the report to be proceeded to the Government for adoption.
